Various drug crimes filed in district court |

(All information was taken from public records filed in the LeFlore County Court Clerk's Office.) Charges were filed May 11 against Joe Soriano of Poteau and Diana S. Bull in connection with the execution of a March 27 search warrant at Soriano's residence on Airport Road in Poteau.
A number of law enforcement agents from various agencies converged on the home to conduct a search during the afternoon hours. At the time of entry Soriano and Bull were in the backyard of the residence standing behind a travel trailer. Both were detained. In addition to pieces of identification found during the search were a small bag containing a white crystal substance which later tested to be methamphetamine, a purse containing two small bags containing a white crystal substance which later tested to be meth, a small bag containing a green leafy substance, a glass pipe, a marijuana cigarette, a small plastic container which held approximately 30 grams of a crystal substance that field tested positive for meth, snort straws, plastic bags and four rifles. Soriano was charged with trafficking in meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony. Bull was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. On April 21 drug task force agents served a narcotics search warrant a the home of Catherine Pipkin. Found in the home were a clear zippered plastic bag that contained items that had allegedly been used for the ingestion of illegal substances, medical forceps with burnt ends that had allegedly been used to smoke marijuana and what appeared to be a white plastic tube from a pen that had been hollowed out to fashion an alleged snort straw. The straw had a white powdery substance that field tested positive for meth. Charges were filed May 19 against Pipkin for the crimes of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (meth) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. An alarm at the Grand Slam Convenience Store in Spiro alerted law enforcement officials to the location on May 6, at approximately 11:50 p.m. Spiro police officers arrived at the store and were told by witnesses that they had seen two subjects running from the front of the store toward the house directly behind Sonic. The officers went to the residence to speak with the occupant observed footprints in the yard coming from the direction of the store. The officers asked to speak with Quinton Billey who allowed the officers to look around for any stolen merchandise. The officers noted that the house smelled of marijuana and rolling papers were found by the officers in a back room of the house. Also found was a glass pipe on a shelf in the closet, scales and a green leafy substance which later tested positive for marijuana. Found in the backyard was a planter with 18 growing marijuana plants. All individuals in the house were arrested and numerous articles of drug paraphernalia were found throughout the house. Charges of cultivation of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia were filed against Billey, Matthew Gatewood, Holly Christine Gray, Chellsea Pringle and Harry Taylor. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Wes Odom recently found drugs and firearms on the driver and in a vehicle while making a routine traffic stop on May 9. The vehicle was traveling 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. According to the affidavit Odom made contact with the driver, Sammie Cox who did not have his license with him. Cox was asked to step out of his truck and was being directed to the patrol car when Odom reportedly noticed Cox reaching into his left front pocket. Cox was patted down and Odom felt a small baggy. When cox emptied all of his pockets found was another baggy containing a green leafy substance. Cox was then placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and the car was inventoried. Found during the inventory were two loaded pistols. Odom asked Cox who the guns belonged to and was told they belonged to Cox's brother. Cox was then transported to the LeFlore County Detention Center for booking on the charges of possessing a firearm after former felony conviction, possession of marijuana, transporting a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and driving without a drivers license. |
