On May 21 LeFlore County Deputy John Farmer was called a domestic dispute along with Panama Police Officer Eddie Seaton, Shady Point Police Officer Chris Ford and Bokoshe Police Officer Richard Cooper. According to the affidavit when the officers arrived at the rural Shady Point address Farmer spoke with a female minor at the home and Justin Fry, current resident of the home. Both Fry and the minor told Farmer they had gone to the home of Sarah and Ryan Dyer where, they said, they were held and were not allowed to leave.
Officer Cooper then went to speak with the Dyers and found that Ryan Dyer had been stabbed. Fry was then searched and a pocket knife was found on his person. Farmer questioned the Dyer couple and they told him that they had seen Fry come inside their home and that Sarah Dyer wanted to talk with him concerning a problem. They told the deputy that Fry was rude and that the minor shoved Sarah Dyer. It was then reported that Sarah Dyer shoved the minor and an altercation between the two erupted. Ryan Dyer reportedly attempted to pull his wife away and Fry allegedly put him in a choke hold. It was reported that the minor went to the kitchen and returned with "something silver" in her hand. She allegedly yelled at the three to stop fighting. During the course of the fight the minor allegedly stabbed Ryan Dyer with a kitchen knife. During an outside interview with the minor, Farmer reportedly smelled alcohol on her breath. She denied that she had been drinking, but Fry reportedly admitted that he had been drinking. After a sobriety test, the minor allegedly admitted that she "may have hand one or two or three." It was discovered that during the scuffle an infant had been left unattended. The minor reportedly admitted to stabbing Ryan Dyer. Fry was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor by encouraging the minor to commit a felony and domestic abuse. Undercover stings mother, daugter A mother and daughter were recently arrested following an undercover sting operation by the Panama Police Department. According to court documents Panama Police Chief John Whiteaker assisted Panama Officers Andrew Bevil and Chris Anderson with an undercover purchase of narcotics on March 22. The court document states that Anderson purchased four 10 mg tablets of methadone hydrochloride from Donna Rust while Samantha Shockey retrieved the tablets and counted them out to her mother, Rust. The report states that approximately 30 minutes later the officers went back to the Rust residence and asked to speak with them. Both were read their rights and agreed to speak with Whiteaker. The report states they initially denied having sold the narcotics to anyone before. When Officer Anderson entered the room they both admitted to selling the pills to him. Rust allegedly said, “I hate to see anyone in pain.” and claimed that they had been selling pain pills for about six months. When the residence was searched the officers found 77 pills of methadone and 20 tablets of hydrocodone. |
