John Wilson, a part-time Heavener police officer, may have a fast car but he says he’ll keep his new 2010 V6 Mustang Con-vertible well under the speed limit. The retired Army Staff Sergeant and Vietnam veteran is the second winner of the Oklahoma Lottery Mustang Money promotion. Wilson purchased his winning ticket from the Tote-A-Poke in Heavener. He’s been playing the Lottery since its launch.
"I thought I would just give it a shot and see if I could win,” said Wilson. He and his wife, Lynda, have been married nearly 41 years and were home over lunch when they received a call from the Oklahoma Lottery. "She couldn’t believe it when I told her I had won,” said Wilson. “I’ve never had anything like a sports car before.” Wilson chose the color grabber blue for his new convertible and he has plenty of people already lining up for rides—including his four granddaughters. "I’ll probably take it around town and show it off,” he said, laughing and admitting that his wife will probably be the one who drives it. The vehicles the Wilson’s currently drive all have high mileage, so a new car is going to be a great addition. They will receive their Mustang during a special presentation within the next month. The Oklahoma Lottery will be awarding two more 2010 V6 Mustang Convertibles through the Mustang Money promotion. Entries are currently being accepted and the next drawing date is July 31, 2009. The fourth and final drawing date is not yet determined. |
