Barrel racer Jodi Ray of Heavener will compete in the Cowboy Regional Rodeo Association Barrel Racing competition Oct. 15 through 17 at Harper Stadium in Fort Smith, Ark. Ray, a school teacher, is the reigning champion and currently leads in the barrel racing event. She is being challenged by Amy Crawford of Battiest, who is right on her heels. The top fifteen qualifiers in bareback, saddle bronc, bull riding, tiedown roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and heading and heeling will compete at the finals for year end titles and finals awards.
