Caught In The Act
Panama and Shady Point police officers caught this ghoul making an early stop at the Bad Dreams Haunted House in Panama. PDN photo by Jenny Huggins The Panama and Shady Point Police Departments are presenting their eighth annual Bad Dreams Haunted House in Panama.
Located in a trailer on Cherry Street organizers will provide guided tours at 15-minute intervals through the rooms that portray one's worst nightmares. Psychos, killers and complete darkness are just a few of the things you'll see (or not see) at this charity haunted house. Citizens and high school volunteers will carry out the nightmares with all money raised benefitting the Christmas for Kids program sponsored by the police wives of Shady Point and Panama. The program provides a Christmas to kids that may not have one otherwise. In addition to raising funds the event serves to other purposes. “This gives kids something to do for Halloween that's safe and keeps them out of trouble,” stated Shady Point Police Chief Kendall Morgan. Bad Dreams Haunted House opens tonight at 7 p.m. and lasts until the crowds die down. The house will be closed Sunday but will re-open Monday at 7 p.m. and will be open every evening next week at 7 p.m. through Halloween night. “There hasn't been a year yet that someone hasn't wet themselves,” stated Panama Police Chief John Witeaker. To get to the location, turn left on the road before the Panama Quick Mart, next to the garage. The building is approximately two blocks down on the right. There will be a fire pit out in the front yard. Admission is $5 per person and the officers encourage everyone to come out, have fun and help out a good cause. |
