Pride of Poteau Marching Band |

The Pride of Poteau Marching Band has been busy the past few months attending competitions and winning trophies. The band participated in the Morris Eagle Marching Invitation on Sept. 26 and received a second place award in class 4A, third place overall in finals and Outstanding 4A percussion and color guard. At the Glenpool Blue and Grey Classic held Oct. 3 the band received first place in 4A competition, Class 4A sweepstakes and second place color guard in class 4A. To top off a very successful year the band competed in McAlester on Oct. 21 in the OSSAA regional marching contest and received superior ratings from all judges. 
Above: On Saturday, Oct. 31, several Poteau band students traveled to Tecumseh on Oct. 31 to audition for small school All-State band in classes 2A, 3A and 4A. Wyatt Helms received fourth chair on clarinet, Shannon Weller received eighteenth chair on clarinet, Carroll Parduhn made first chair on bass clarinet and Blane Toney was awarded fourth chair on snare drum.
