The last two weeks have been so packed that this is the first chance I've had to sit down and write about all of it. It seems like a lot of my activities decided to happen all at once, at least I'm busy with all the things I love to do!
Halloween weekend was a busy, busy time. That Friday I cheered at the Poteau Pirate game in Ft. Gibson where we all froze to death! It was a good game, and the guys played very well. I had so much fun cheering! I'm glad the season will go on for at least one more week. When basketball season gets here I'll be ready to cheer at those games as well. It's going to be a blast! When we arrived home after the game, I went straight to bed to get some rest for the next morning. I had to get up early to go to the first round of All-State choir auditions. I was really nervous, but I made it to the final round! I've worked really hard the past year, and I'm hoping I've improved enough to make it. All I can do is try my best! We had a really good representation of students from Poteau make the last round this year. All together, 13 of us made it! Hopefully things work out for us this Saturday when we go and audition for the final time. Until then we're going to perfect all of the songs we've learned. When we all got back from the auditions, my very good friend from Van Buren came over before my Sweet 16 party that night! Since it was on Halloween, I decided to make it a haunted house theme. We had it at the Kerr Mansion where my mom put together the best party I've ever had! I had so much fun! The decorations made the dining hall feel as if the mansion really was haunted! My friends and I danced and had a blast until very late in the evening. We had a costume contest where we had winners for the best dressed individual and couple, and we had a murder mystery game going on throughout the dance. My friends seemed to have a really good time and I'm glad. I'm so grateful for all the work my mom put into the party for me. She did an amazing job. She's the best at what she does! Thanks so much mom! I love you! On top of all those things, I've been working on the upcoming production from the Good Times Community Theatre called " The Audition." I'll give out more information next week, but mark your calendars for Nov. 20-22 so you can come and see us! The cast is made up of 70 members all together! It's going to be spectacular, so don't miss it! Later, Laura Ann Something to Ponder: Before they invented drawing boards, what did they go back to? |
