Fabulous Fourth!

They came to town by the hundreds! People from all around LeFlore County made the trip to downtown Poteau for the Chamber of Commerce Fourth of July Celebration. There were rides, foods, face painting and water slides. The day ended with the giant fireworks display at dusk. Children of all ages enjoyed the day. Above, Killion Barnes is getting a little shut-eye on B.J. Barnes’ shoulder after having enjoyed the full day to get ready for the fireworks.

This little cutie enjoyed the ride her dad gave her on one of the water slides. All of the rides for the children were free.

Decorating for the holidays, family, and good old-fashioned Christmas fun is evident throughout the home of Jim and Kathy Norwood. Each room is decorated with a different theme from the extensive Christmas collections belonging to this couple. Jim and Kathy moved to Poteau a couple of years ago to be closer to family. Jim is originally from Heavener and Kathy is a retired teacher and artist. They hope you will drop by and enjoy their Christmas decorations Sunday afternoon during the Parade of Homes. This home and the other three will definitely put you in the Christmas Spirit.
