...Poteau is one of the ideal small home towns that has grown so much. i went to school off and on through junior high and high school in the late 60's. it was a small town and everyone knew everyone. think maybe there were 5000 residents. not sure. but i have been back several times and just recently this past january. the town has grown so much. new businesses everywhere. still heard there are alot of people i went to school with and some are retiring and moving back to poteau. would love to live there myself but not possible. great place to raise a family. the one person that said the local government would not let new businesses in should have seen it in 1968. then she could see how much it has changed with my generation being the local government.

...I thought there was a ordinance in Poteau about setting up mobile homes. Why do i see them being set up in this town? Was the ordinance made for just a select few,or am i mistaken? I still love my hometown regardless.

My family and I recently visited the Grand Canyon. I would highly recommend it. It may be a pretty good drivebut the scenery is astounding. Any fan of the Disney/Pixar phenomenon Cars will love the drive. A bonus stop would be outside Amarillo at Cadillac Ranch. If you can stand the pinch of gas prices go see one of the seven wonders of the world. Lisa Peters - Poteau
