Phishing scam targets DHS benefit cardholders
An official with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services has announced there is an active phishing scam that is targeting OKDHS benefits cardholders.  “Nearly 500,000 debit cardholders in Oklahoma should be on the alert for any suspicious e-mail that may ask for the cardholder’s private information,” said George Earl Johnson Jr., OKDHS director of communications. OKDHS has learned through its debit card Web site administrator, Affiliated Computer Services, that the scam is targeting debit cardholders who receive and access their state benefits on the Access Oklahoma Master Card. Neither OKDHS nor ACS will ever contact cardholders and ask for their debit card information, Johnson said. “Cardholders who might receive an e-mail asking for their private information are instructed to immediately delete the e-mail and do not, we repeat, do not respond to any of these e-mails,” Johnson stated. If a cardholder has already responded to the e-mail and provided their debit card information, the cardholder should immediately call 1-888-401-9843 and have their card canceled. There is no charge to replace the card, as ACS will waive this fee. Cardholders who respond to the e-mail and provide their debit card information will give the phishing scammers access to their account and risk losing the funds in their account, Johnson said.

...Poteau is one of the ideal small home towns that has grown so much. i went to school off and on through junior high and high school in the late 60's. it was a small town and everyone knew everyone. think maybe there were 5000 residents. not sure. but i have been back several times and just recently this past january. the town has grown so much. new businesses everywhere. still heard there are alot of people i went to school with and some are retiring and moving back to poteau. would love to live there myself but not possible. great place to raise a family. the one person that said the local government would not let new businesses in should have seen it in 1968. then she could see how much it has changed with my generation being the local government.

...I thought there was a ordinance in Poteau about setting up mobile homes. Why do i see them being set up in this town? Was the ordinance made for just a select few,or am i mistaken? I still love my hometown regardless.
