Vote means no new buses for Bokoshe schools
By Ken MilamPDN News EditorBokoshe Schools will "limp through" the rest of the year with aging buses after voters turned down a bond proposal to buy three vehicles Tuesday, Superintendent Dennis Shoup said. The proposed $260,000 bond issue would have been used replace the district's three route buses. The vote was 37-32 against the proposal. The bonds would have replaced one that is soon to be retired."Perhaps we can work a little harder next year" if another bond issue is proposed, Shoup said.He said all three buses date from the 1990s and have high mileage."They're diesel, so they tend to run a long time. We'll just keep patching them up," he said.
