Wednesday's High School Baseball Playoff Roundup

SPIRO — To beat Thursday's rain, the Spiro Bulldogs began their Class 3A Regional Tournament at home Wednesday, and made it to the regional finals and a win from returning to the state tournament for the third straight season. The Bulldogs pounded Valliant 20-0, then downed Stigler 5-1. They will play Eufaula at 4 this afternoon for the regional title. A second title game, if needed, will be at 6 tonight.
Pocola 12, Sallisaw-Central 1; Tushka 2, Pocola 0: At Class 2A Regional Tournament in Crowder, the Indians split their games Wednesday's opening day. After being rained out Thursday, the Indians will play the host Demons at 4 this afternoon in the loser's-bracket final, with the winner meeting Tushka at 6 tonight in the regional final. If a second title game is needed, it will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Editor's note: Poteau and Panama were rained out on Thursday. The Pirates will play Byng at 1 this afternoon in the Class 4A Regional at Byng. The Razorbacks will face Calera at 11 this morning in the Class 2A Regional at Hartshorne. There was no information reported on Heavener's games Wednesday in the Class 3A Regional Tournament in Heavener.
