ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Poteau Pirates ended their Spring Break baseball trip in Florida with two losses, falling 5-4 in eight innings to Poly Prep, N.Y., and 12-7 to IMC Academy.
Byng 4, Spiro 1: In Spiro, the Pirates, who trailed 1-0 after five innings scored twice in the sixth and seventh innings to get the come-from-behind win.
Red Oak 17, Wister 0; Rattan 16, Wister 0: In the Red Oak Festival, the Wildcats suffered two lopsided losses.
In the loss to Red Oak, the Eagles broke a scoreless tie with a seven-run second inning, propeled by home runs by Tyler Parks and Garrett Noah, to take a 7-0 lead.
In the loss to Rattan, the Rams jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning, but a 10-run sixth inning put the game into run-rule status.
