LEFLORE — The Leflore Savages made sure it was going to be a happy weekend as they beat Whitesboro 9-1 and Oktaha 11-7 in Saturday’s home three-way at John Ward Field. Oktaha defeated Whitesboro 13-5.In the victory over Whitesboro, the Savages, leading 3-1, scored six runs in the sixth inning to put the game into run-rule status.The Bulldogs, whose Friday afternoon game at Panola was canceled, got a double apiece from Austin Stepp and Avery McCarley.In Leflore’s victory over Oktaha, a seven-run sixth inning rallied the locals from a 6-4 deficit.In Whitesboro’s loss to Oktaha, the Tigers scored twice in the first and third innings, with a four-run second inning in between, for an 8-0 lead after three innings.The ’Dogs scored four runs in the fourth inning to cut the deficit in half, but they got no closer.Red Oak 8, Wister 0: Friday in Red Oak, Red Oak starter Morgan Crenshaw pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts.The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening inning, which proved to be more than enough run support for Crenshaw.Dale 7, Cameron 2; Sterling 8, Cameron 4: Saturday in Dale, the Yellowjackets suffered a pair of losses on Saturday.Against the Pirates, the hosts broke a 2-all tie with a run in the third inning and a pair of two-run innings in the fifth and sixth innings.In the loss to Sterling, the Yellowjackets cut the deficit to 3-1 in the third inning, but the Tigers scored three runs in the third inning to make it 6-1.
