HOWE — The Howe Lions opened the 2011 fall season in style as they defeated the Kinta Eagles 9-3 Friday at Lions Field.
The second game was rained out.
Cameron 13, McCurtain 1; Cameron 15, McCurtain 0: Friday in McCurtain, the Yellowjackets (3-0) kept perfect on the young season with the sweep.
Battiest 15, Leflore 3: Friday in Leflore, the Panthers spoiled the season opener for the Savages (0-1).
Whitesboro 20, Kiowa 12; Clayton 7, Whitesboro 6; Crowder 15, Whitesboro 7: At Buffalo Valley Festival, the Bulldogs (1-2) used a late-inning rally to down the Cowboys for their lone win in the weekend event.
Editor's Note — Wister's game against Fort Towson Friday night in Red Oak was called in the fourth inning due to lightning, with the Wildcats leading 8-5. The game will likely not be resumed.
