EL RENO — Last May when the Wister Wildcats and Dale Pirates met, it was for the Class 2A State Tournament championship, which was won by the ’Cats 4-2. The same two teams met again Saturday for the finals of the Tournament of Champions at Redlands Community College, and the Pirates avenged the loss.
Dale scored twice in the eighth inning to break a 6-6 tie to win the game 8-6 in eight innings.
Wister (5-1) reached the title game as they outlasted Coleman 13-9 in Friday's semifinals in a battle of Wildcats.
Cameron 13, Crowder 0; Cameron 5, Preston 0: At Eagle Classic in Red Oak, the Yellowjackets (3-3) ended the four-day event on not only a two-game winning streak but with the consolation championship on Saturday afternoon.
