WILBURTON — The Talihina Golden Tigers opened their season Saturday afternoon with a 14-1, five-inning, run-rule victory over the Wilburton Diggers.
With the game tied at 1-1, the Golden Tigers broke the tie with a four-run third inning and a nine-run fourth inning.
Austin Lawson got the win, pitching a one-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Wilburton 8, Cameron 7: Friday afternoon in Wilburton, the Yellowjackets suffered their first loss of the season as the Diggers scored two runs in the home half of the seventh inning to get the win.
The ’Jackets, who trailed 4-0 after an inning, scored once in the second and three runs in the third to tie the game at 4-4.
A three-run sixth inning gave Cameron its first lead of the game at 7-4, but a two-run sixth and a two-run seventh by Wilburton snatched the win away.
