BROKEN BOW — Just after getting a thrilling road win against the Heavener Wolves on Friday night, the road was unkind to the Poteau Pirates on Saturday as they lost 62-58 to the Broken Bow Savages.
The Pirates fell behind 17-16 after one period, and trailed 32-27 at halftime.
Trailing 44-34 after three periods, the Pirated did outscore the Savages 24-18 in the final quarter, but the rally fell short.
Panama 81, Cameron 75, 2 OT: Friday night in Panama, the Razorbacks got homecoming off on the right foot, and did so in dramatic fashion.
Naconna Steelman’s steal and assist to Coby Johnson for a game-tying layup with just seconds left tied the game at 63-all at the end of regulation.
Both teams scored nine points in the first overtime to send the game into a second OT tied at 72-72. The Hogs outscored the Yellowjackets 9-3 in the second four-minute extra period to get the win.
Wister 55, Bokoshe 13: Friday night in Bokoshe, the Wildcats jumped out to a 22-0 lead after the first period and never looked back.
Howe 54, Keota 46: Friday night in Keota, LeFlore County’s Lions got past Haskell County’s Lions. Howe led after every quarter, 19-13 after one, 30-26 at halftime and 36-33 after three.
McCurtain 59, Arkoma 39: Friday night in Arkoma, after trailing by double digits in the first half, including being down 28-16 at halftime, the Mustangs cut the deficit to 36-30 after three periods.
However, the Bulldogs put the game away with a 23-9 final quarter.
