CAMERON — The Wister Wildcats got a much needed victory as they beat the Cameron Yellowjackets 69-58 on Saturday afternoon at the Cameron Gym.
The Wildcats got out to an 18-13 lead over the Yellowjackets after one period, and the visitors never lost their lead.
Talihina 58, Heavener 32: Friday night in Heavener, the Golden Tigers jumped out to an 18-10 lead after a period en route to a 38-19 halftime advantage.
Howe 48, Red Oak 47: Friday night in Howe, Howe's Chesly Hall hit his only basket of the game with 30 seconds left to put the Lions ahead at 48-47 lead.
The Eagles, who had taken a 47-46 lead on a Bryce Deatherage free throw with 50 seconds left, had one last shot, but their buzzer-beating attempt missed the mark.
Stilwell 57, Spiro 56: Friday night in Stilwell, the Indians jumped out to a 14-10 lead after a period en route to a 30-18 halftime advantage.
The Bulldogs outscored the Indians 36-27 in the second half, but the rally fell short.
Editor's note: Nothing was reported on Panama's game at Quinton by press time. The Cameron-Leflore game Stigler-Pocola game, the Wright City-Whitesboro game and the Keota-Wister game were canceled on Friday night due to inclement weather conditions. In fact, the Stigler-Pocola game got underway, but was later called so the Panthers could get home safely.
