Whitesboro boys get first win of season, rally past Panola in own tournament; ’Dogs two wins away from winning own tournament

August 24, 2013

WHITESBORO — The Whitesboro Bulldogs got their first win of the season Thursday night to open their own tournament, but they had to do it the hard way.
Down two runs, a 10-run sixth inning propeled them to a 19-11 come-from-behind slugfested win over the Panola Bearcats in the Whitesboro Tournament.
The Bulldogs (1-3), coached by Bryan Cartwright, faced Boswell, coached by his brother, Alan, in the semifinals, with the winner playing the Buffalo Valley-Battiest winner for the tournament title at 4 this afternoon. The losers will play for third place at 2 this afternoon.
