Whitesboro boys, Heavener girls reach today's fifth-place games; Arkoma boys, Whitesboro girls advance to consolation finals; girls championship semifinals Friday night in Talihina

There will be one more game for four county basketball teams in the 81st LeFlore County Tournament.
The Whitesboro Bulldogs and the Heavener Lady Wolves reached Friday's fifth-place games with wins Wednesday at Carl Albert State College's Mick Thompson Fieldhouse.
The ’Dogs downed the Panama Razorbacks 68-59 to make it to Friday's 5:30 p.m. fifth-place game against Pocola at the Wister High School gym.
The Lady Wolves got past the Arkoma Lady Mustangs 55-46 to set up Friday afternoon's fifth-place gamne against Spiro at 4 p.m. in Wister.
The Arkoma Mustangs and the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs also played for plaques in consolation finals Thursday in Wister thanks to Wednesday victories at CASC.
The Mustangs were able to outlast the Cameron Yellowjackets 49-46 to set up a match-up with Wister Thursday for the consolation championship.
The Lady Bulldogs were able to defeat the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets 52-42 to advance to Thursday afternoon's consolation title game against Bokoshe.
The championship semifinals on the girls side will be Friday night on Chris Gillespie Court at Ray Henson Gymnasium in Talihina. Poteau will play Panama at 7 p.m., followed by a rematch of last year's title game between defending champion Howe and Talihina at 8:30 p.m. The two winners will play for the title at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Spiro, while the losers will meet for third place at 1 p.m. Saturday in Spiro.
