WHITESBORO — The Whitesboro Bulldogs baseball team was facing elimination on its own field on Saturday in the Class B District Tournament, needing to beat the Buffalo Valley Buffaloes twice to win the championship — and advance to this week's regional tournament. That's just what they did.
The Bulldogs beat the Buffaloes 3-2 and 14-11 on Saturday to win the district title and advance to Thursday's Class B Regional Tournament in Tupelo where they will meet Moss at 1 p.m.
The Bulldogs split their first two games on Friday, beating Battiest 10-4 but losing to Buffalo Valley 12-5.
