William “Buddy” Leaton Guinn Jr.

William “Buddy” Leaton Guinn Jr., 69, of Heavener died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, in Poteau. Buddy, a lifelong area resident, was born Feb. 14, 1942, in Heavener to William Leaton and Melva (Welton) Guinn.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Heavener, lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era. A 1960 graduate of Heavener High School, Buddy attended business college in Oklahoma City before joining the Navy. He was a well-known and liked plumber in the area.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Larson) Guinn; two daughters, Becky Stallings and Bridgette Rhoads of Heavener; a son, Lee Guinn of Gravette, Ark,; two sisters, Dianna Bentley of Mesquite, Texas, and Peggy Faulkner of Talihina; and five grandchildren, Dillan, Justin, Veronica and Connor Stallings and Savannah Rhoads.
Donations may be made in Buddy’s memory to the First United Methodist Church food pantry.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at First United Methodist Church in Heavener, with full military rites to follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery Pavilion, Heavener.
Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener, is handling arrangements.
