Wister boys go 2-1 in Union City Festival, while Whitesboro goes 1-3 in two-day event

Despite winter-type weather conditions, the Wister Wildcats and the Whitesboro Bulldogs got to play their games in the two-day Union City Festival, which took place Thursday and Friday at several locations.
The Wildcats went 2-1 as they ended the two-day event with a 6-5 win over Lookeba-Sickles on Friday at Redlands Community College in El Reno. Wister's second game against Community Christian School was canceled.
On Thursday in Okarche, the ’Cats split their games, blanking Okarche 4-0 but losing 6-3 to Altus Navajo.
The Whitesboro Bulldogs had a rougher go in the event. The only win the Bulldogs got came in their final game Friday afternoon in Tuttle as they beat Hobart 7-2. Earlier in the day, the ‘Dogs suffered a 12-6 loss to Altus Navajo.
On Thursday in Calumet northwest of El Reno, the Bulldogs dropped two games, falling 6-2 to Blair and 10-2 to Calumet.
