Wister boys repeat as champs of Wood Bat Tournament

HOWE — For the second straight fall, the championship plaque of the Howe Wood Bat Tournament is going to Wister High School.
The Wildcats doubled up the Cameron Yellowjackets 4-2 Saturday night at Lions Field to win their second straight Wood Bat Tournament title.
The ’Cats began the day with a 12-1 four-inning, run-rule win over the Whitesboro Bulldogs in one championship semifinal, while the ’Jackets got a no-hitter from Alex Humphries to defeat the Clayton Bulldogs 8-0 in a five-inning, run-rule victory in the other semfinal.
In a battle of Bulldogs, Whitesboro run ruled Clayton 12-4 in five innings to win the third-place plaque.
Friday night, the Smithville Braves doubled up the McCurtain Bulldogs 8-4 to win the consolation championship.
