WISTER — The Wister Wildcats are a third of the way to defending their Class 2A state title.
The Wildcats swept the Panama Razorbacks by scores of 8-0 and 12-0 to win the Class 2A District Tournament on Thursday.
The ’Cats (19-2) will find out Monday who and where they will play in next week's Class 2A Regional Tournament.
The Hogs end the season at 7-11.
In the opener, the game was scoreless until the fourth inning when the Wildcats scored three runs for a 3-0 lead.
Wister put the game into run-rule status with a five-run sixth inning — highlighted by Colby Turnipseed's grand-slam home run.
In the nightcap, the ’Cats put the game away early with a seven-run first inning.
Clint Crane got the win as he pitched a no-hitter with two strikeouts in the three-inning, complete-game victory.
