Wister boys win Class A District Tournament title

WISTER — The Wister Wildcats baseball team saw its streak of trips to state end last spring, but the Wildcats took the first step in starting a new streak Friday afternoon.
The ’Cats defeated the Cameron Yellowjackets 6-0 to win the Class A District Tournament title to advance to next week's regional tournament. Wister (17-13) will find out its regional fate on Monday when the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association announces its regional tournament pairings.
The Yellowjackets end the season at 17-10.
The first team to be eliminated was the Howe Lions, falling 17-3 to Wister and 18-0 to Cameron on Thursday afternoon. Wister then blanked Cameron 6-0 in the third game on Thursday.
The Lions end the season at 7-13.
