Wister girls see softball season end at regional tournament

TUSHKA — Two springs ago, the Lady Wildcats came within a win of making the Class 4A State Tournament at the regional tournament in Rattan.
Thursday night at the Class 4A Regional Tournament, the Lady ’Cats were in the same situation — one win from making state. Unfortunately for them, the same ill fate that happened in 2011 also happened Thursday night.
The Lady Wildcats saw their season come to an end with a 9-4 loss to the Davis Lady Wolves in the consolation finals of the Class 4 Regional Tournament. It was the second time the Lady ‘Cats lost to Davis, which beat them in their first game 6-5. Wister stayed alive, barely, outlasting the Colbert Lady Leopards 7-6 in 13 innings to reach the consolation finals.
Wister ends the season at 19-13.
