WISTER — It looked like there was going to be a winner-take-all game Wednesday afternoon in the Class 2A District Tournament. After the homestanding Wister Lady Wildcats handled the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers 8-2 in Tuesday's opening game, Talihina jumped out to a lead in the nightcap, which looked somewhat of a safe lead.
However, the Lady ‘Cats would have none of it as they rallied from a 6-0 deficit, and withstood a seventh-inning Talihina rally, to down the Lady Golden Tigers by a score of 9-8 in the second game to win the district tournament title — and advance to next week's Class 2A Regional Tournament.
Wister will find out early next week where, who and when the Lady ’Cats will play in the regional tournament, while the losses ended Talihina's season.
