Wister names new chief, officers

August 15, 2013

Jordan Westbook was named chief of police in Wister at a special meeting of the town trustees Wednesday.
Westbrook was assistant chief under. Randy Liles, who resigned to return to work for the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department. Liles had held the chief's position for about three years.
"We'll continue to do the job we've been doing for the last three years and serve the community as best we can," Westbrook said Thursday.
Westbrook, who grew up in the Hodgen-Heavener area, has been with the department since September 2010. Before that he spent a year and a half with the Guymon Police Depafrtment.
In other personnel changes, Westbrook said two officers' positions have been filled.
Nathen Colbert was hired full time. He has been a reserve officer for more than two years.
Mike Suttles also was hired as a full-time officer. He had worked as a reserve in Wister before moving to another department.
