A wonderful week spent in 'Titletown, USA'

August 1, 2013

FIRST TAILGATE PARTY OF YEAR — Outdoor columnist Jody Adams, fourth from left, and friends, from left, Matthew Reif, Richard Reif, Brad Kraemer, Jim Reif, Michael Reif and Keith Kraemer had a tailgate party when they visited the opening day of the Green bay Packers training camp Saturday at Lambeau Field. The Packers are Adams' favorite team. Photo Submitted by Jody Adams

On July 25, I, along with Richard, Mike, Jim and Matthew Reif, “borrowed” a GMC Acadia belonging to Richard's wife, Paula, and headed to Green Bay, Wis. — also known as “Titletown, USA” and home of my beloved Packers — to be present when the Packers started this season's training camp.
We made it to St. Louis at 9:30 p.m. that night where we met uncle Carl Reif and his buddy, “Mafia” Mitch Lenard at Cousin Hugo's Bar and Grill. We ate baskets and baskets of hot wings, and then dug into the restaurant's famous hamburgers while watching baseball on the big screen. Hugo's is a must if you like hot wings and burgers as much as me.
We got up one week ago this morning at 6 a.m. and drove through the entire state of Illinois, and made it to Brad and Shelly Kraemer's house in Saulk City, Wis., at 2:30 that afternoon. They had lunch waiting on us — bratwursts.
Save the world, recycle.
God bless our troops and veterans.
Have a great weekend.
