Youthful Talihina Golden Tigers open season tonight at Haileyville

September 2, 2011

At this time last year, the Talihina Golden Tigers were one of the favorites to be successful in Class 2A. Now, with the group of the Class of 2011 graduating, it's time for the younger players to shine. They will get that chance for the first time in 2011 when they travel to meet the Haileyville Warriors at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
“We had a good week,” Talihina Coach Kelly Gravitt said. “The kids have done a good job because they've gotten more reps than before. We feel that's going to be important with all the new faces. I hope that will help calm their nerves when the lights come on (tonight). I think the first couple of drives are going be important for us to help get the butterflies out of our system.”
