The Poteau High School basketball teams played Stilwell on Tuesday night at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse. It was their second of two meetings this season, but thanks to the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association the two schools will meet once more on the hardwood.
Poteau's teams will entertain Stilwell in a Class 4A District Tournament when the playoffs begin in two weeks.
All Class 4A, 3A and 2A district assignments were announced Thursday afternoon by the OSSAA.
In Class 3A, both local teams, Heavener and Spiro, were named district-tournament host sites. The Wolves and Lady Wolves will entertain Hartshorne, while the Lady Bulldogs and ’Dogs will welcome Wilburton to town.
Three county schools were named Class 2A district tournament hosts. Pocola will entertain archrival Panama and Sallisaw-Central in one district tournament.
Talihina will welcome Canadian and Tushka to town for a second one, while Wister will be the third local team to host a district tournament, as it welcomes Howe and Rattan.
The Class 2A, 3A and 4A playoffs will begin Feb. 15-16. The Class A and B district playoff tournaments will take place at the end of next week.
