Therral Ray McConnell, 74, of Poteau died Friday, March 8, 2013, in Poteau. Therral was born Oct. 16, 1938, in Paris, Ark., to Lewis and Sarah McConnell. He owned and operated McConnell Furniture Mfg. and McConnell Construction. He was a loving husband, Dad and Papa. He loved life, hunting, and storytelling. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene; brothers, Albert and Orville.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Jeannie of the home; three daughters, Lee McConnell of California, Jessica and Justin Montez, Megan McConnell and fiancé Cory Cooper; sons, Therral McConnell Jr. of California, Jimmy Pitchford; 10 grandchildren, Sean, Tony, Dylan, Victor, Alexis, Troy, Trevor, Hunter Ray, Kaydence Shea, Brody Allen; sister, Lorene Harkins of California; brothers, Bud and Sharon McConnell of Poteau, Glenn and Donna McConnell of Mountainburg, Ark., Bill and Bonnie McConnell of Tulsa, Grady and Wanda McConnell of Poteau, Ed and Lola McConnell of Oklahoma City, Kenny McConnell of Calif.; and other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Montez, Cory Cooper, Jimmy Pitchford, Rick McConnell, Terry McConnell and Jerry McConnell.
