SPIRO — Spiro baseball coach Paul Croft notched his 200th coaching win on Saturday as his Bulldogs swept a pair of games from Jacksonville, Ark., winning 10-0 and 6-5.
In the opener, the Bulldogs scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings, then broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning for a 9-0 lead.
In the nightcap, the Bulldogs broke a 5-all tie with a run in the fifth inning.
Wister 3, Broken Bow 2, 8 inn.: Saturday in Wister, Tyler Gibson’s sacrifice fly scored Jesse Hammons with the game-winning run. Hammons led off the eighth inning with a single, went to second on a Broken Bow error and made third on Colby Turnipseed’s sacrifice bunt.
Hartshorne 7, Pocola 1: Friday in Hartshorne, the Miners jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the second inning.
After Conner Mangham’s solo homer in the fourth inning cut the deficit to 3-1, the Miners scored three runs in the fifth and once in the sixth to put the game away.
Red Oak 11, Talihina 3: Friday in Red Oak, the Eagles broke a 1-all tie with a seven-run second inning to take an 8-1 lead.
Editor’s note: Spiro’s Friday home game against Farmington, Ark., was rained out, and will be made up at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Farmington before the Bulldogs go to Fayetteville, Ark., to watch the Oklahoma-Arkansas baseball game at Baum Stadium.
