STILLWATER (AP) — A hearing for a former Oklahoma State University student charged with sexual battery has been delayed.
A preliminary hearing was set in Payne County for Monday for 22-year-old Nathan Cochran [of Heavener]. A lawyer for Cochran told the Tulsa World on Monday the proceeding was being rescheduled.
The attorney, Jay Husbands, said a new hearing date could be set later in the day.
The hearing is to determine whether there is sufficient evidence for Cochran to be tried.
Prosecutors allege that Cochran molested or attempted to molest male students while they slept in a dorm room. Affidavits filed in the case allege that the incidents occurred in August and November.
OSU officials came under fire for not immediately reporting the alleged incidents to authorities.
