The body of a 46-year-old woman reported missing Monday was found Thursday near Monroe.
According to LeFlore County Undersheriff Kendall Morgan, the woman, whose name is being withheld at this time, was reported missing on Monday. Morgan said LeFlore County Sgt. Donnie Edwards and Deputy Randy Liles began investigating the missing person case and following leads into her disappearance, which led them to tracking her location by use of the global positioning system in her cell phone, Morgan said.
Morgan said the Forestry Department did an aerial search and found the woman's body in a creek near the Old Monroe Highway southeast of Oklahoma Highway 128.
Sheriff Rob Seale said there appears to be no foul play involved in the woman's death.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation assisted with the investigation.
The woman's body has been sent to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office for an official cause of death, said Seale.
