TULSA — Three Poteau Lady Pirates cross country runners medaled in the high school senior girls division of Saturday's Tulsa University Hurricane Festival.
Deven Bond was fourth (6:22), Haley Griggs seventh (6:29) and Kaitlan Standridge ninth (6:39) as they finished in the top 10.
Brittany Fox was 27th (7:45) and Haley Clark was 32nd (8:27) as the Lady Pirates were third in the team standings with 48 points to finish behind champion Jenks (37 points) and Broken Arrow (43).
In the high school junior girls division, Sheridan Hoyer was 15th (6:48), Sonya Guerrero 28th (7:29) and Alyssa Kramer 35th (8:24).
Six Lady Pirates placed in the sophomore girls division. Bayleigh Bates was 13th (7:02) Kayle Dryer 14th (7:09), Iris Ocampo 15th (7:13), Taylor Darneal 19th (7:29), Josie Garrett 21st (7:30) and Kenzi Brown 27th (7:42). As a team, the Lady Pirates were runners-up with 45 points, while Jenks won the team title (28 points).
In the high school senior boys division, one Pirate medaled as Dylan Fox was seventh (12:09). Edwin Espinoza was 23rd (13:11), Arturo Medina was 24th (13:21), Noah Martin was 32nd (14:11), Charles Graham was 35th (15:31), Cody White was 36th (16:48), Erik Sanjuan was 37th (16:58) and Jason Graham was 38th (21:47). As a team, the Pirates were second (48 points), finishing behind champion Jenks (15).
Four Pirates placed in the high school junior division. Carlos Panduro was 26th (13:27), Allen Daniels 31st (14:04), Cuco Bustos was 20th (13:20) and Isaac Stacy was 24th (13:47).
The Poteau teams will return to action at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Owasso Invitational.
