Wanda “Faye” Rockman, 71, of Poteau died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 in Ft. Smith, Ark. Faye was born Nov. 12, 1941, in Poteau to John and Edith (Green) Ford. She was a retired administrative assistant at Jim Hamilton VoTech. She was a member of the Church of God Seventh Day. She was a member of the 1913 Study Club, an artist and she was “Ma” to many. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Denver Ford, Kenneth Ford and Don Ford.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Rocky” of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Darren Burgess of Fort Smith, Sabrina and Jerry Ralls of Shady Point; four grandchildren, Ashley and Will McAlister, Tyler Ralls, Seth Burgess, and Emily Ralls; one great-granddaughter, Emma Burgess; three sisters, Lillie Fitzpatrick, Betty Vanhook of Howe, Bonnie Brown of Poteau; five brothers and sisters-in-law, David Ford, Sam Ford, Dennis Ford of Wister, Charles and Rosemary Ford of Sallisaw, Jerry A. and Dortha Ford of Poteau; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Wister Church of God Seventh Day with Elders Chip Hinds, Wesley Walker and Don Rodgers officiating. Pallbearers will be Darren Burgess, Jerry Ralls, Tyler Ralls, Seth Burgess, Will McAlister and Kyle Kingrey.
The family will visit with relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
