The seeding pretty much held true Monday night as the 2013 LeFlore County Junior High Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament got under way at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex.
Spiro, Heavener and Wister — the three teams that got opening-round byes — all won, as did Poteau/Pansy Kidd Middle School.
The Lady Bulldogs downed Cameron, while Heavener beat Panama and Wister knocked off Talihina.
Pansy Kidd Middle School's team had to get two wins to make it to the semifinals, defeating Arkoma and Pocola.
Spiro and Pansy Kidd Middle School met in one semifinal on Tuesday, while Heavener and Wister faced off in the other semifinal. The winners will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday for the right to reach the 7:20 p.m. title game on Thursday.
In opening-round action, Cameron beat Leflore, Pocola got a forfeited win over Bokoshe, Panama beat Howe and Talihina beat Whitesboro.
The Lady Mustangs beat Bokoshe by forfeit in the consolation opening-round game as the Lady Tigers dropped out of the tournament.
In Tuesday's consolation action, Panama met Leflore, Talihina faced Arkoma, Cameron played Howe and Pocola squared off against Whitesboro. The Panama-Leflore winner faced the Talihina-Arkoma winner later in the night, as did the Cameron-Howe winner and Pocola-Whitesboro winner did. Those winners played another elimination game against the losers of the Spiro-Pansy Kidd Middle School and Heavener-Wister games.
