LEFLORE — Leflore pitcher Chance Long threw a three-hitter and struck out three in six innings as the Savages run ruled the Clayton Bulldogs 10-0 Monday afternoon.
All the run support Long needed came in the third inning when the Savages broke a scoreless tie with four runs on Garrett Singleterry's grand-slam home run. After a single run in the fourth inning, a five-run sixth inning put the game into run-rule status.
Smithville 6, Whitesboro 2; Haworth 6, Whitesboro 0: In Smithville, the Braves scored once in the first inning and five runs in the third.
Brent Pugh's two-run single put the Bulldogs on the board.
In the loss to Haworth, Joe Smith had Whitesboro's only hit. The Lions scored twice in the first and three runs in the third for a 5-0 lead. The sixth run came in the fourth.
Buffalo Valley 4, Wister 3: In Buffalo Valley, the Buffaloes broke a 2-all tie with a two-run third inning.
Caleb Moore hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 4-3 for the Wildcats.
