TALIHINA — Down double digits after a period, the 10th-seeded Bokoshe Lady Tigers used a strong fourth quarter to rally for a 40-36 come-from-behind victory over the seventh-seeded Pocola Lady Indians in Monday's opening-round game of the 82nd LeFlore County Tournament on Chris Gillespie Court at Ray Henson Gymnasium.
Both Talihina teams and the Whitesboro Bulldogs also posted opening-round victories on Monday at this site.
The Golden Tigers handled the Bokoshe Tigers 72-20, while the Lady Golden Tigers preceded that with a 45-26 win over the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs. The ’Dogs opened the day with a 52-41 win over the Panama Razorbacks.
Tuesday had four championship quarterfinal games on Chris Gillespie Court. On the girls side was Spiro vs. Bokoshe, while Poteau played Talihina. Poteau's boys met Whitesboro, while Talihina played Pocola.
Tonight at this site will be both consolation semifinal games and some fifth-place semifinal contests.
Whitesboro's girls will play the Wister-Cameron winner in a consolation semifinal at 4:40 this afternoon.
The other three games here tonight will be games to decide who will play for fifth place here on Friday.
On the boys' side, the Poteau-Whitesboro loser will meet the Heavener-Howe loser at 6 tonight, while the Spiro-Leflore loser will meet the Talihina-Pocola loser at 8:40 tonight. The winners will play for fifth place here at 6 p.m. Friday.
The Poteau-Talihina girls loser will play the Panama-Arkoma loser here at 7:20 tonight with the winner meeting the winner between tonight's match-up of the Howe-Heavener loser against the Spiro-Bokoshe loser here at 4:40 p.m. Friday to decide fifth place.
