SEMINOLE — Getting 12 points from Kasuela Cooper and great defense were both keys for the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings in their 62-56 win in the regular season finale against the Seminole State College Lady Belles on Saturday afternoon.
With the win over Seminole, the Lady Vikings (15-13 overall, 9-9 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play) clinched the No. 6 seed. They were slated to play 11th-seeded Arkansas Baptist in a Region II Tournament play-in game Monday night at Mick Thompson Fieldhouse, but the match-up has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday due to weather.
A 6-0 run late in the game by the Trojans proved to be the difference for them in their 65-63 win over the Vikings in Saturday's second game.
The Vikings (3-24, 2-16) were scheduled to travel to meet the Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Mavericks in a Region II Tournament play-in game Monday night, but the match-up has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday due to weather.
Editor's note: Carl Albert's baseball doubleheader Sunday afternoon in Ada against the East Central University junior varsity was sleeted out. No make-up date has been set. The Vikings will return to action, weather permitting, Tuesday afternoon in a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader against Seminole State at Ival Goodman Field.
