The LeFlore County Bass Club had its latest tournament Saturday at Wards Landing on Wister Lake. There were 21 boats with 36 anglers who caught 53 bass weighing a total of 120.73 pounds. The average fish weighed 2.28 pounds, and eight limits were caught.
“Ribeye” Randy Martin and “Lucky” Bucky McGee bested the tournament field with a total of 13.08 pounds, earning them $450.
Robbie “Cool as the Other Side of the Pillow” Brassfield and Keith “Stone” Jones were second with 12.2 pounds, which included Brassfield's big bass winner weighing 3.83 pounds and earned him $180. For being second, Brassfield and Jones pocketed $270.
Judd “Van” Wann and Josh “Shirts” Roberts were third with 11.83 pounds, winning $180 for their efforts.
The Club's next, and last, open bass tournament will be Aug. 27, also at Wards Landing on Wister Lake.
The Club's “2011 Classic Tournament” meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Pizza Hut. The “Classic” itself will take place Oct. 1-2 at Apple Gate State Park on Robert S. Kerr Resevoir.
