KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The bad news Wednesday afternoon for the Oklahoma Elite softball team was it suffered its first loss in the 2011 World Series. But the good news was the Elite still won its pool-play division.
The Elite lost a heart-breaking 1-0 game to the Wichita (Kan.) Impact at Mid-America Sports Complex in its final pool-play division game.
Despite the tough loss, the Elite still won its pool, and played its first bracket-play game Thursday morning and defeated the Swingbuilder Lightning Green from Blue Springs, Mo. by a score of 12-3. The Elite then played the Northern Blast from Becker, Minn., Thursday afternoon and rallied for a 5-3 victory.
The Elite will play at 10 a.m. this morning in another winner's-bracket game.
