When the Talihina Golden Tigers had their first football scrimmage last Thursday night at Doc Robinson Stadium against the Quinton Savages, the one thing which stood out to Talihina Coach Kelly Gravitt was that he needed to go back to the 4-3 defense. If this week's practices are any indication, the move is going to pay off.
“They've been way more comfortable in practice this week,” said Gravitt, whose team will be in its final preseason scrimmage at 5:30 p.m. on the road against the Hugo Buffaloes. “It's what we've done since I've been here. They flew to the ball (against Quinton), but we had some busts. The change back (to the 4-3) has made the kids feel way more comfortable. We've turned the intensity up a lot this week. We need to be more physical, so we'll see how it works.”
