TALIHINA — A seventh-inning rally lifted the Heavener Lady Wolves to an 8-4 win over the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers Thursday afternoon.
Wister 14, Pocola 6; Pocola 12, Whitesboro 1; Wister JV 5, Whitesboro 2: In Wister, the Lady Wildcats (13-8), who trailed 2-0 in the opening inning against the Lady Indians (6-9), responded with a five-run first inning for a 5-2 lead — which they never relinquished.
In Pocola's win over Whitesboro, Pocola pitcher Erin Holderfield (6-9) pitched a two-hitter, only allowing singles by Sassy Newell and Molly Young for the Lady Bulldogs (1-10). Young scored Whitesboro's lone run on a Pocola error.
In the Wister JV's win over Whitesboro, the Lady ’Cats, who trailed 3-2 in the third inning, scored three runs in the third inning to get the win.
Panama 2, Crowder 1; Panama 2, Eufaula 0: In Crowder, the Lady Razorbacks (13-7) got great pitching outings from Taylor Eaves (9-2). Eaves threw a no-hitter against Class 2A's 14th-ranked Demonettes — and missed by one batter of a perfect game — with 12 strikeouts, while she fanned 10 batters and tossed a three-hit shutout against the Lady Ironheads.
Buffalo Valley 10, Leflore 1: In Leflore, the Lady Savages (1-6) could only muster a single run in the second inning. Allison Todd's RBI single scored Jaydyn Heilman with Leflore's lone run.
