Eight days before, Poteau softball pitcher Brenna Vise threw a perfect game against the Howe Lady Lions in the winner's-bracket quarterfinals of the 2011 LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Tournament.
Monday afternoon, Vise, who had not pitched since the Howe game, returned to the pitcher's circle and was “pitcher” perfect once more. Vise faced 18 batters, the minimum in a six-inning game, and struck out nine of them en route to an 8-0, six-inning, run-rule victory over the Sallisaw Lady Black Diamonds.
“I really wasn't aware that I was perfect until coach (Misty Collins) told me,” said Vise (9-0). “I didn't know I did in that first game (against Howe), either. I just throw it up there, and I hope for the best. I feel pretty good. I just trust in my teammates to help me out.”
