HEAVENER — Famous author Charles Dickens wrote the novel, “A Tale of Two Cities.” Had he been at Harvey Stadium Friday night, he might have penned a story entitled, “A Tale of Two Halves.”
After the homestanding Heavener Wolves looked lifeless in the opening half, they got things going in the second half and downed the Pocola Indians 21-12 in a District 2A-6 contest.
The win put the Wolves (5-5, 3-3 in district play) into the Class 2A playoffs as the fourth-place team from the district. As a reward for the playoff berth, the Wolves will get to travel three hours to face third-ranked Stroud in the opening round of the playoffs at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
The season ends for the Indians at 5-5 overall and 1-5 in district play.
