WILBURTON — In a battle of LeFlore County teams in Latimer County, the Leflore Lady Savages got their second win of the season as they defeated the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets 48-36 Wednesday in the Eastern Oklahoma State College Tournament at EOSC's Claud C. Dunlap Fieldhouse.
The Yellowjackets had to go overtime before putting away the pesky Panola Bearcats by a score of 76-66.
At Wilburton High School, the Savages downed the Battiest Panthers 56-46.
Thursday's action had Leflore and Whitesboro teams in action on the final day of pool play. Leflore's boys played Lakewood Christian, followed by Whitesboro's girls against Gans and Leflore's girls against Red Oak — all at EOSC. Whitesboro's boys played McCurtain at Wilburton High School.
Cameron's boys will play the Leflore-Lakewood Christian winner for the championship at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at EOSC. The Leflore-Lakewood Christian loser will play for third place in the Blue Tournament at 3:50 p.m. Saturday.
The Leflore girls will play for either the championship at 5:10 p.m. Saturday with a win or third place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The Lady ’Jackets will play for ther consolation championship at 4 p.m. this afternoon at EOSC.
The Whitesboro teams had to win their games on Thursday to play for the championships on Saturday. Losses would likely drop them into third-place games on Saturday.
The Bokoshe boys will play at 5:20 p.m. today at EOSC for the consolation championship.
